Planning Consents
Planning permission in principle for Knockroon was applied for by The Prince’s Charities Foundation. Consent for a maximum of 770 homes was received in November 2010.
Dumfries Farming and Land Ltd, Hope Homes Scotland Ltd and ZeroC Holdings Ltd applied for approval of matters specified in conditions, for the first phase of 87 homes, 12 workshops and 4 commercial spaces along with associated infrastructure, and consent was received in January 2011.
The proposals contained in the masterplan on which the applications were based was the product of partnership working between the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, the local community and East Ayrshire Council. The masterplan was prepared following a 5-day Enquiry by Design event which East Ayrshire Council facilitated and supported.
The general public will be able to comment on future applications via this website.
A Community Liaison Group exists to act as a forum for communication between the Prince’s Charities Foundation, developers Hope Homes and ZeroC and local communities. It meets approximately quarterly.
